One of the questions we get asked is how multi-user clients such as Ncomputing are licensed (or unsanctioned) under Microsoft XP Pro. For the longest time MS would not comment and forced people to make assumpotions. Last year in March the definitive sanction was finally issued by Microsoft.

I used to use a thumb drive to backup my budget software, and I also kept a copy of our tax returns on the same drive. While the files were password protected, I didn't encrypt them because the drive never left the house, and we don't exactly live in a high crime area.

Setting up Kannel 1.4.1 in Ubuntu 8.04 Desktop was easy.
The challenging part was finding the right GSM modem or cellphone because some hardware vendors still refuse to cooperate with us in the Free Software and Open Source Software communities. Woe to those vendors!

Googling a bit I found out that Huawei E220 GSM modem works well with a GNU/Linux system.
